Exceeding abundantly
What is not He calls to be
Impossible is possible with God
Just one word of His command
and streams cool the burning sand
Mercy from the Lord
Will soon be outpoured
Beauty from ashes
Gladness from mourning
Praises dispelling despair
Freedom for captives
Comfort in sadness
There's nothing our God can't repair
This treasure in jars of clay
By God's grace will yet display
A power that's His own and not from us
Though hard pressed at every turn
God's love deep within us burns
Though we see in part
We will not lose heart
In reflection of the loss of our twins, this song gives me hope. Hope of what comes from struggle. After the fall, God intended this life to have struggle. But for those who are His, struggle comes for one reason, that He may be glorified. I have hope. Seeing what he can do with trial, he can refine us and hopefully others will see his hand of peace on my life. Not to say that sadness does not come, because for this season, I am sad and disappointed, but my joy is eternal joy that the sadness does not take away. How joyful this thought: my twin children are home to be with the Lord, they are in His presence! They only felt the sting of death and they never had to endure life's trials, they are now getting to praise God each and every day with perfect praise and living in a body that will not fail them! How sweet the thought.
